Court Verdict Given To Man Stuck In Window

You might remember the story about a Nottingham man who was found stuck a window five hours after the event. Carl Attar, who was arrested on the charge of burglary with intent to steal, has been taken to court and found not guilty, according to a report by the Nottingham Post.

The court found that they were “not satisfied” he entered the building with intention to steal. The defence said that Mr Attar needed somewhere warm to sleep, with Mr Attar’s solicitor, Ian Carter, making the point that he wasn’t prepared to thieve. Mr Carter stated that “He had no gloves and no means of carrying any items.”

The two students who found Mr Attar at the building on their University campus were present at court. The students had initially seen the humour in the scene, and you can see video footage taken by them below.

The consequences of this event have been felt for Mr Attar, he revealed after the case. This was thankfully not in the loss of his legs, which he said that doctors warned him could have occurred if he’d been there half an hour longer. Mr Attar said “I’m not a burglar. I was just trapped. It’s like a lesson being taught. I’m changing my ways.”
